奈良浮見堂

-UKIMIDO- 浮見堂(うきみどう)  

Ukimido is located in the south area of the approach to Kasuga Taisha Shrine, a World Heritage Site in Nara Park. It is called Octagonal Hall, actually Hexagon shape, with Hiwadabuki, cypress bark roof, floating in Sagiike pond. There is a bridge to the hall so you can get inside. It is popular among many photographers as a waterside landscape, and you can enjoy cherry blossoms in spring and autumn leaves in autumn. During the "Light-up Promenade Nara" period, the Ukimido will be lit up and fascinationg people together with the world heritage Todaiji Temple and Kofukuji Five-storied Pagoda.

Directions: 5mins walk from "Daibutsuden Kasuga Taisha Mae (N-7)" stop of Route Bus from JR or Kintetsu Nara Station

 

-TOBIHINO- 飛火野(とびひの)

Tobihino is located in the precincts of Kasuga Taisha Shrine, a World Heritage Site in Nara Park, and is a plaza with a lawn on the south side of the approach to Kasuga Taisha Shrine. It is easy to access since it is very close to Todaiji Temple, which is famous for the Great Buddha, Kofukuji Temple, which has a five-storied pagoda, and the city center. It is one of the popular tourist spots because it has a panoramic view of Mt. Wakakusa, Mt. Kasuga, and Mt. Takamado, and still, you can fully feel the nature. In addition, this Tobihino is popular as a photo spot since you can see deer playing in nature, which have fresh green in spring, overgrown trees in summer, colored leaves in autumn, and frost-covered lawn in winter.
